Shorty's Pit Bull Rescue is a small and busy organization of pit bull owners, rescuers, and supporters. Shorty Rossi star of Animal Planet's Pit Boss, created Shorty's Rescue starting in 2001 when he rescued Geisha out of the Los Angeles Animal Shelter. Since then he has never looked back. Shorty has owned Pit Bulls since the mid-80's and has found that this breed is as misunderstood as he is.
Shorty's Rescue does not operate as a 501c3, nonprofit rescue group, but we are not for profit. Shorty's Rescue is funded through Shortywood Productions. A portion of gifts given to Shorty's Rescue are donated to Linda Blair's WorldHeart Foundation.
Shorty's Rescue does not have kennels or boarding facilities. All pit bulls that are rescued are either fostered to individuals or placed in rescue shelters such as Linda Blair's facility. | |
